Women in Sport Networking Event Champions Inclusion and Leadership

Last week, the ubah inspire initiative organization hosted the Women in Sport Networking Event, a landmark gathering that brought together a diverse spectrum of stakeholders committed to advancing gender equality and empowering women within the sports ecosystem.

Organized as a collaborative platform, the event welcomed high-level representatives from government institutions, international and local NGOs, INGOs, youth leaders, sports federations, and female athletes from across various disciplines. This convergence of voices and perspectives fostered meaningful dialogue, strategic networking, and a shared commitment to transforming the landscape for women and girls in sport.

A Convergence of Vision and Purpose

The event served as a critical space for stakeholders to engage in in-depth discussions around the existing challenges and untapped opportunities within the world of sports—particularly as they pertain to women’s participation, leadership, and representation. Key themes included gender equity in sports leadership, investment in women’s grassroots sports programs, access to training and resources, and the vital role of mentorship and advocacy.

Panels and breakout sessions were designed to facilitate actionable conversations, enabling participants to share success stories, research insights, and best practices from both local and international contexts. Athletes and youth leaders took center stage, sharing powerful testimonies that underscored the real-life impact of inclusive policies and support systems in enabling their journeys.

Amplifying Women’s Voices and Leadership

One of the core objectives of the Women in Sport Networking Event was to ensure that women’s contributions to the sporting policy world are recognized, valued, and amplified. The event created a safe and dynamic environment for women to engage with decision-makers, form new alliances, and identify pathways for advancing into leadership roles within sports organizations and institutions.

“Inclusivity in sports goes beyond participation—it’s about creating spaces where women can lead, influence, and thrive,” said one keynote speaker. “This event is a timely reminder that collective action is key to achieving that vision.”

Beyond the powerful conversations and new connections formed, the event laid the groundwork for future partnerships and joint initiatives. Participants agreed on the need for continued engagement through policy development, public awareness campaigns, training programs, and institutional support that centers women and girls at all levels of the sporting hierarchy.

Organizers expressed confidence that the momentum generated will lead to lasting impact. “This is not a one-off event,” emphasized one of the organizers. “It’s the beginning of a movement to build a more equitable and inclusive future for sports—locally and globally.

As the Women in Sport Networking Event concluded, the energy in the room remained high, with participants walking away not just inspired, but equipped—with knowledge, allies, and a renewed sense of purpose. The event stands as a testament to what’s possible when diverse sectors unite behind a common cause: a world where sport is truly a space for all.
